Overview

The Robo Receptionist is a groundbreaking AI-powered assistant designed and developed under my leadership at the Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME). It provides real-time venue guidance, answers queries, and ensures a seamless experience for visitors.

Key Features:

  • Real-Time Visitor Assistance: Provides instant support and guidance for visitors, including venue navigation.
  • AI-Powered Responsiveness: Utilizes advanced AI-based APIs to ensure accurate and context-aware interactions with users.
  • Customized Simulator Integration: Repurposes simulation mannequins as robotic bodies, aligning with the simulation center's niche and showcasing innovation in healthcare simulation technology.

Development Approach:

  • Initiated and prototyped with my team using a basic carton model equipped with a camera, speakers, and microphones to collect interaction data.
  • Data collected from visitor interactions trained the AI model using random sampling, with 20% reserved for testing.
  • Final version retrofitted into a professionally designed robotic body, incorporating user feedback and iterative improvements.
